How image watermark removal actually works here
You paint a mask. The inpainting model looks at neighbouring colour and texture, then fills the hole. That is different from a blur, clone stamp, or crop, and it is why small, accurate masks beat covering half the photo.
Use the tool on images you own or are allowed to edit. Date stamps, your own logo tests, and marks on photos you took are typical jobs. Do not use it to hide copyright notices on other people's work.
